If you’ve ever been to Charlie P’s Irish Pub, chances are you’ve heard of Cúla Búla Pale Ale. Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Holy Hops Brewing Co., it has become one of our most popular craft beers

So what makes it special?

At 5.3% ABV, Cúla Búla is a smooth, rounded and hoppy Pale Ale, brewed with Pilsner and Crystal Light malts and Mosaic and Ekuanot hops.

With 30 IBU, it has plenty of hop character while remaining balanced and easy to enjoy.

Brewed by Holy Hops Brewing Co. in Korneuburg, Cúla Búla brings Austria and Ireland together in a beer made for Charlie P’s.

And here’s the news we’re excited to share: Cúla Búla Pale Ale is now available in bottles.

That means you can enjoy it not only on tap at Charlie P’s, but also at home, at parties, or stock it for your own bar or venue.

The origin of 'Cúla Búla'

The journey of Cúla Búla began when Ronan, owner of Charlie P’s Irish Pub in Vienna, had a vision for a hoppy Pale Ale that would become a beer of Charlie P’s own.

Drawing on his years at Charlie P’s and his understanding of what customers enjoy, Ronan set out to bring the idea to life.

Along the way, he met Wolfgang Fischer, founder of Holy Hops Brewing Co., and the two joined forces.

Together, they developed the recipe for Cúla Búla - bringing Austria and Ireland together in a smooth, rounded and hoppy Pale Ale brewed by Holy Hops in Korneuburg.

And that’s how Cúla Búla Pale Ale was born. Sláinte!

Crafted with Passion

What makes Cúla Búla Pale Ale stand out is the passion behind it. Ronan and Wolfgang share a passion for independent, small-batch brewing, and that commitment has shaped Cúla Búla from the very beginning.

The design also tells part of the story. The Cúla Búla logo and Ogham script are a nod to Ronan’s Irish roots, while the vibrant blue gives the beer its distinctive character. It’s a little reminder of Ireland in every bottle.

Bringing together Irish inspiration and Austrian brewing, Cúla Búla Pale Ale has a character and story all of its own.
